What can you learn in this course?
In this course you will learn and practise new vocabulary. You will also receive information on vocabulary-relevant topics that will help you to develop new vocabulary on your own. This will help you to cope well with your life in Germany and at the university campus. At the end of the course you will have learnt selected parts of the A1 vocabulary and will know strategies for consolidating and expanding your vocabulary.
Outline
The course is divided into seven chapters. The first chapter provides basic knowledge on vocabulary acquisition. Chapters 2-6 focus on the introduction and application of selected vocabulary areas. Chapter 7 contains an optional training unit in which the acquired vocabulary can be consolidated once again.

Dr. Thomas Stahl heads the Center for Language and Communication at the University of Regensburg. He is interested in topics related to language didactics and deals particularly with questions of multilingual didactics and assessment in a foreign language context.

Target group
The course is aimed at all learners of German who would like to expand their vocabulary at level A1. Prerequisite for the course is a basic knowledge of German at level A1.
Confirmation of participation
No ECTS points or grades will be awarded in this course, but you can download a confirmation of participation as soon as you have passed at least 60 percent of all online self-tests included in the course. In addition, you can earn up to five badges in this course.
